The unique thermal breeze "mistral" runs through the channel in the summer months daily, creating perfect windsurfing conditions. The open championship of Croatian windsurfing takes place every July and Viganj is said to be the windsurfing capital of Croatia! Viganj was host to the World championship in 1989 and European championship in 1990.
